If so, go check out Jonathon’s post about their new and “not improved†free checking. Looks like there is going to be a $10-12 per month charge unless you meet certain conditions. Did I mention I love my credit union? No fees for any of my accounts and they pay me INTEREST on every account. God bless them.

I have free checking at my credit union. I’m all set.
Why do people pay for checking at megabanks?
RB,
I’ll never understand. Once I tried a credit union, I vowed never to use a commercial bank again. Of course there are plenty of people in the country without convenient access to a credit union, which surely plays in to their decision and I understand that, but for the many millions of people that do have access to credit unions, they should really look at them. Why do your business with a company that is trying to charge you higher rates and fees to pay the stockholders when you can get better rates and lower fees through a non-profit organization? Just my two cents.
