If you’ve been on the fence as whether or not you should get a Prime subscription these are the five main ways I save money with Amazon Prime. (And how Amazon Prime actually pays for itself!)
# 1 – Free Two Day Shipping
If you order off of Amazon a lot then this one benefit could pay for a Prime subscription service.
I personally order off of Amazon at least every couple of weeks. I don’t have to worry about meeting a certain spending level and always get free two day shipping. This is by far my favorite way feature.
# 2 – Thousands of Free Prime Videos
I went without cable TV the entire time I lived by myself. Instead of paying for TV I took advantage of the thousands of free movies and TV shows that were available on Prime.
The selection is seriously gigantic. In fact, that was usually a problem for me as it took me an hour to decide what I wanted to watch!
# 3 – One Free eBook Per Month
I’m an avid reader so I’ve always enjoyed being able to get one free Kindle “borrow” from Amazon per month. The only catch is that you can only borrow Prime eligible books which limits your selection.
# 4 – Free Games for Kindle
Both of my kids have Kindles. Since they always fought over mine I decided to buy them both their own Kindles last year. I LOVE that they have so many free game download options with our Amazon Prime membership.
I have it set up on their Kindles where a password is needed to spend money so I know everything they download is free.
# 5 – Prime Pantry
With an Amazon Prime membership you also have the option to use Prime Pantry. With Prime Pantry you can fill up a box with up to 45 pounds of household goods and food for flat rate shipping of $5.99.
It’s a really convenient way to skip (or at least delay) going to the grocery store.
My Prime Membership Pays for Itself
Our membership easily pays for itself each year. It would honestly pay for itself just in shipping cost savings. However, I also LOVE the fact that I have free movies, games, and eBooks at my fingertips.
