Well, it’s starting to get uglier in Belgium and I can only imagine how long it will take before the US ends up in a similar situation.

Firefighters were out protesting against a raise in the retirement age from 58 to 60 and it was up to the police to keep order. In the end, the police officers ended up all wet from the fire hoses and covered in fire extinguisher gunk. Talk about a highly unusual situation.
While much of the focus on debt and deficits is in Europe right now, I’m sure we’ll be talking about similar issues and dealing with a very angry public as we try to get our finances fixed in the US.
Back in January I read an Officer down story that made me wonder how many of our nations Police Officers actually carry their firearms while off-duty. about Tyron Franklin, 23, a rookie patrolman in Paterson, N.J. who was shot and killed when someone tried to rob him at gunpoint inside a restaurant. Franklin was in civilian clothes and was unarmed. Franklin leaves behind a 16 month old son.
