Fresh off the press is the LA Times with an article highlighting that stopping smoking can save you a lot of money. No kidding. It can save you thousands of dollars a year in cigarette costs alone! If you calculate in the health costs of smoking, the figure goes much higher. I admire those people who made the switch from conventional smoking to vaping. It truly helps you save plus it’s a healthier alternative.
Is there anyone still smoking just because they haven’t realized it’s draining their bank account? My guess is no. People that are still smoking know the financial and health costs and choose to continue. While I don’t think it’s a great idea, I’m sure they’d point out that when I drink alcohol, I’m not doing myself any favors either. To each their own, I say.

Anyway, if you just happen to be a reader of ELYM that enjoys his cigarettes and hadn’t realized that you were spending lots of your money on them, this just might be the best article you’ve ready in the last decade……

In my state, cigarette taxes fund vast portions of our government services. If I quit smoking, interruption of these services would doubtlessly ensue.
I smoke for the people. :)
