I’m sure this isn’t the last article we’ll see with tips on jobs you can do when you would ideally be retired. With the sorry state of retirement balances for the average citizen it’s no surprise that more and more people will be looking for ways to supplement their income in their golden years.
Not everyone will need to find that part time job in retirement though. Even if you haven’t saved a ton of money over your lifetime, if you’ve minimized your debt and have paid off your house, you can live surprisingly comfortably on social security and medicare. While I wouldn’t opt for that type of retirement, millions of people are, including my mother. She’s getting by pretty comfortably on her social security check and hasn’t had to tap in to her 401K balance yet. (Her 401K isn’t very large but could easily give her sufficient supplemental income if she needed it).
