UGGHHHHH. I was sitting in the living room at home when I heard my wife’s voice from the laundry room. “You’re not going to like this!†she yelled. My first thought was that my shorts had turned a bright pink, or one of my new tshirts was a light blue. I was absolutely shocked when she walked in the room holding my Iphone. “Nooooo!â€, I said as she walked toward me. I realized that, in my rush to get my clothes washed for a birthday party on Sunday morning, I’d handed her my shorts with the Iphone still in the side pocket. What a quick way to ruin a Saturday night.
So, now I’m looking in to what it’s going to cost me to get a new phone. If I was to buy a new Iphone without a contract, it would cost me $599. That’s not going to happen. I’ve only had this Iphone for a little over 10 months. By my calculations, I think it’s going to cost me $125 penalty to get out of my current contract and upgrade to the new Iphone on June 24th. I was thinking that I’d be stuck without a phone for the next couple weeks but a friend of mine has an old 1st generation Iphone that he’s going to loan me until I can get a new one. It’s definitely an expensive mistake.
Definitely an expensive mistake. I almost dropped mine in the toilet one day and I almost had a heart attack. Note to self, don’t sit your Iphone on the bathroom counter that’s close to a toilet.
Glad you can borrow one until you can get a new one.
Oh no! If that happened to me, I’d be struggling with whether to just pay the extra big bucks for the iPhone 4 in a couple of weeks!
MadameX,
That is precisely my predicament. Now that I’ve seen how much I can sell my waterlogged Iphone for on Ebay, I’m probably going to just wait it out for a couple weeks and buy the new one.
There is definitely a part of me that has wondered if I should just bag the whole thing and go back to a “free” voice only phone. I’ve become so reliant on the Iphone though, that I found myself needing it about 10 times yesterday. The worst part was driving 15 minutes out of our way so that we could check my email to get an address and phone number of a friend that we were en route to visit.
