My wife and I were evaluating what we could do for a short vacation while our daughter is off for spring break and we’ve decided to head to Lake Havasu Az. The flight is booked and the rental car is reserved. All we need to do now is sit back and wait to leave.
While we are down there, I’m planning on doing a bit of investigating on the local real estate market. I’m not doing this because I’m interested in buying a house, but rather I’m just curious to see how real estate is doing there. My uncle, who has a place there, has mentioned that there are a lot of beautiful houses that would have sold for upwards of a million dollars now just sitting there vacant. In some cases these houses are 2 to 3 years old and have never been lived in. Yikes.
A couple of things on our agenda during our trip are visiting the Hoover dam and also driving out to see the Grand Canyon. I have never seen either before so I’m pretty excited. The Hoover dam tour is going to cost us about $40 but the drive along the Grand Canyon will be free (other than gas). We are going to be staying at my Uncle’s so the only costs for our vacation are the flights and rental car. It’s a cheap way to head south for fun in the sun without breaking the bank!!
Anyone have any advice on things to see in the Vegas/Havasu area?
