If you haven’t noticed, over the last few months I’ve pretty much kept clam about my financial state. I took down all of my financial details because a few of my friends found my blog. Me, being the rocket scientist that I am, didn’t do a very good job of creating an anonymous name. Had I made up a completely new name for myself when I started this blog, I probably would still be posting my most intimate details. I suppose it’s probably a good thing. All the old stodgy people I knew thought I was crazy for sharing such detailed information. (I told them that I did it anonymously). Yes, these are the same people that can’t find the “any key” (press any key when ready) on their computer, so I guess I really shouldn’t worry about their advice too much.
The good news is that my financial picture is continuing to improve. We are still making solid gains each month. Home equity, 401K performance and contributions, the ROTH ira and savings are all doing well for us. We continue to stay in the top 10% of net worth for our age group. I suppose it isn’t that hard to be in the top 10% when the national savings rate is 0%, but it’s still a decent place to be.
On another note, my wife is considering going back to work. We are getting along fine on my salary and are meeting all of our financial goals, but if my wife can get hired at the same company I’m at, we could start getting double matching on our 401k’s and double the pension benefits accruing. That’s just too delicious to pass up if we get the opportunity. Our daughter is getting to the age where she will really thrive in a preschool/daycare and we want to be sure she learns good social skills around other kids too.
Oh, and congratulations to Make Love Not Debt, Boston Gal’s Open Wallet, Budgeting Babe, AllfinancialMatters and our favorite PF blog aggregator for getting some coverage on MSNBC!

Good to see you still blogging.
I thought I would drop by and say hi.
So… does everybody still love YOUR money?
Cheers

I wish you would put your finances back up. I just realized that it’s been about a month or so since I last visited your blog. W/O the finances, it just isn’t as ‘meaty’ as it used to be. Still a great blog, but I’m looking for more detail on personal finances and what others are doing.
